Shannon Matthews distraught mother has made another appeal, saying all she wants for Mother's Day is her "darling daughter home safely".
Karen Matthews said: "If you or anyone knows where Shannon is, please think about my family this Mother's Day." Shannon's nine year old best friend Megan added; "I'm really, really sad and if you know where she is just call and tell us where she is."
Shannon was last seen leaving Westmoor Junior School in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, at 3.10pm on Tuesday. She had previously been on a school swimming trip, and CCTV footage shows her leaving Dewsbury Sports Centre swimming pool surrounded by a group of friends and wearing bright pink, furry boots.
Police are now gravely concerned for her welfare but there is always the exception to the rule and if you believe the media little Shannon wanted to go and live with her biological father and maybe just maybe, she is alive somewhere hiding out and very frightened. The chances are some predator may have targeted her. The police have been scouring her mother's boyfriend's flat and of course her single mother has had her life scrawled across the press. I'm not prepared to do that to the poor woman.....she's possibly lost her child.
